While the first market for our energy crop products will be in North America, many of the advances we are making will have application in other parts of the world.
Crops and traits that increase biomass yields per acre and lower input requirements will be especially useful in tropical areas, which many experts believe are ideal production areas due to the warm climate and high rainfall amounts. Likewise, drought resistance can help put unproductive farmland back into use and protect yields from weather disasters.
As in North America, we believe that energy crops can improve rural economics and quality of life, while providing a sustainable alternative to fossil fuels.
