Drought tolerant tomato plant
Ceres has improved the tomato plant on the right for enhanced drought tolerance.

TRAITS FOR ROW CROPS

Many of the same traits that benefit dedicated energy crops also benefit food, feed and fiber crops.

We are working with a market leader, and have released vast genomics data on soy and corn to public, not-for-profit organizations to further basic research in row crops. Our researchers also frequently publish their findings in scientific journals as part of our commitment to advance the industry’s understanding of plant genes and their function.

The most important traits in our pipeline include stress tolerance (drought, cold, heat, salt), improved nitrogen efficiency, yield enhancements, and compositional traits that improve post-harvest processing or offer improved levels of nutrients, proteins and other phytochemicals.

The graph below from the ISAAA shows the use of biotech crops
is increasing throughout the industrial and developing parts of the world.
